Understanding The Truck Hire Industry

Understanding The Truck Hire Industry
As a whole, the truck hire industry was established as a natural extension of the widespread usage of trucks. Initially, it began as an innovative means for businesses to meet their transportation needs. In the formative years, many businesses that purchased trucks with the aim of meeting their transportation needs ended up renting out their assets during their down times as means of bolstering their incomes. This is the how 1300 Meteor Rentals begun offring truck hire services. However, there are some truck rental businesses that ventured into this industry by renting trucks as their main business venture.

The growth of the industry, however, can be attributed to the realisation of the benefits that renting a truck has for individuals and businesses as opposed to purchasing trucks. There are tangible benefits to renting trucks to meet your transportation needs. Chief among the benefits are the financial benefits. For any business, cash is the lifeblood of their existence and, as such, they need to protect their cash flow. However, when you purchase a tuck as a transportation solution, this is essentially locking up a lot of valuable cash in an asset that is depreciating over time.

On the other hand, renting trucks is a far more cost-effective means of obtaining or increasing transportation capabilities and capacity. Businesses need only pay a fixed and predictable charge for the period they use the truck. As such, businesses remain cash-positive all throughout whilst still having increased transportation capacities and improved transportation capabilities. This is a far more cost-effective method of obtaining transportation solution for many Australian businesses, a benefit that is hard to argue with.

On the operational front, businesses and individuals do not have to worry about maintenance and the associated costs that come with owning a truck. Typically, it is the responsibility of the truck rental company to maintain their trucks and, therefore, you don't have to worry about the hassle and cost of maintaining any trucks you hire.

Moreover, in recent years the technology incorporated into trucks has been getting more sophisticated, and in some regards more difficult to manage. This has provided an incentive for businesses in choosing to hire trucks as a means of reducing their burden with regards to fleet management.

All these considerations have played a part in making truck hire popular. This, in turn, has spurred growth in the industry to the point where it is a major part of the transport and logistics solutions available to businesses and individuals. That being said, it is important to note that not all truck hire offers are the same. Some are far better than others in terms of overall value.

1300 Meteor Rentals is renowned for offering true value to customers. We offer some of the most competitive rates in the industry, making sure that our customers realise all the benefits that hiring a truck should come with.

This is in part due to the fact that we are one of the most experienced rental companies around. We began offering car hire services as far back as 1982. This has given us an exceptional understanding of what our customers need. More importantly, through the years we have been able to specially design our services to meet our customer's needs and expectations.

For instance, we offer one-way rental services. Our customers can rent our truck one-way between our branches. Additionally, we also offer one-way rental services across numerous other cities that are connected by the major truck and intercity bus line, and or regional airlines. With this service, our customers don't need to worry about the time and cost involved in returning the trucks to the original 1300 Meteor Rentals branch.

What else makes 1300 Meteor Rentals a cut above the rest in the truck hire industry is the range of trucks that we have across all of our branches. In the case of Cairns, Townsville, and Mount Isa, we operate a wide range of trucks including tipper trucks (with 2.0 and 4.5-tonne capacities), dropside/tray truck, crane truck (8.0-tonne capacity), and furniture trucks.
