Moving House on a Budget

Moving home can be an expensive process, but there are ways to go about moving with a limited budget. buying and moving into a new house can be exciting and rewarding, but it can also be packed with expense. If you are moving on a budget, there are several ways to help save money and still move all of your belongings.

Packing materials

Try the buy/swap/sell sites for giveaway or cheap boxes and packing materials. Also check with local warehouses, furniture and white goods stores are a good place to get free boxes.

Ask Familiy and Friends to help.

Free labor is the cheapest form! Offer to cook them dinner or a slab of beer can sometimes be enough enticement for them to give up half a day or so to help with the packing and heavy lifting

Hire a truck 

When you think about moving home, you may not have considered all of the costs involved and the biggest of all is hiring a team of removalists. Hiring a truck and asking friends and family with the heavy lifting could save you literally thousands of dollars.
